MinistersRev. Bill Brown has been Minister of Murrayfield Parish Church since 2001. Bill is also currently serving as Convenor of the Church of Scotland's General Assembly Committee for Ecumenical Relations. His ministry interests include ecumenical and local/global partnerships. Bill is married with two grown children and two grandchildren. Tel 337 1091 Rev Julie Bird is serving as the Associate Minister of Murrayfield Parish Church. Ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA) Julie has been serving withing the Church of Scotland since January 2005. She has served as a delegate to the National Council of Churches in Christ (USA) and a Presbyterian Church (USA) delegate to the World Alliance of Reformed Churches in July 2004. Julie will serve Murrayfield Parish Church for a period of four years working with the development of new Church and Centre programmes. Julie is married to Adrian - they have one child. CHURCH STRUCTURE:
Under Presbyterian organisation, Murrayfield Parish Church is led by the members of the congregation. Under this form of governance the affairsof the local congregation are governed by a Kirk Session, comprising Elders ordained for life from within the membership and by a Congregational Board of members elected at the AGM for a three year period, with an equal number of Elders. |
COMMUNICATION:We produce a monthly church magazine. As Murrayfield Churches Together we also produce Bridges, a quarterly magazine linking church and community. If you would like to submit information for either of these magazines, please call 337-1091. |
